FAQs
When is the ceremony?
There is no wedding ceremony. We are getting married in the courthouse on August 19, 2021. On August 21, we would like you to join us for the celebration.
What is the dress code for the celebration?
This is a no gown, no tux (unless it’s our cat) celebration. Wear your comfy sundress and shirt/trouser/shorts and spend an afternoon at the Gray farm. We also recommend you to wear comfortable shoes and sandals.
Can I attend the celebration virtually?
Unfortunately, no. But we will have the photos from the celebration posted on the website. Stay tuned!
Edit: Photos are now online.
Will there be an Indian wedding?
Yes. Sushma’s family can’t make it to the celebration and she always dreamed of an Indian wedding. Hence, there will be an Indian wedding ceremony, in India, hopefully within the next year. We will keep you posted regarding that.
What should I expect at the celebration?
The Gray Farm has a pond and many farm animals (goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, dogs and cats). It is a pet friendly celebration, so feel free to bring your pets along. We will have plenty of yard games for both adults and kids. The pond is swimmable, so bring your swimsuits if you want to do that. Buffet style food will be served starting around 5:30 - 6:00 PM. It is going to be an intimate gathering with food, games, dancing and maybe fireworks.
Is there a gift registry?
No. We are not expecting gifts. We just want pleasure of your company.
Allerton, IL? Is that near Allerton Park?
No. Allerton is a small town ~30 miles south east of Champaign-Urbana. Allerton Park is directly west of Champaign-Urbana.
